Carlos Machado Jiu-Jitsu is a Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) organization founded by Carlos Machado, an 8th degree coral belt. The art focuses on teaching a comprehensive and accessible approach to BJJ emphasizing both skill development and personal growth. Machado jiu-jitsu is known for its high-energy classes, fast paced learning. The curriculum includes fundamentals, advanced techniques, and self-defense applications. Carlos Machado Jiu-Jitsu has a network of affiliate schools across the United States and internationally and we are one of them.

The Machado Method is a teaching philosophy that emphasizes on structured and progressive approach to learning BJJ, incorporating various training methods like warm-ups, drills and free sparring. A Machado gi is required for this class.

What is Fight Foundation?

Fight Foundation is a mixed martial arts school located in Oxnard, CA serving kids and adults in Ventura County that teaches the Wind Combat System which is a martial art that includes: kickboxing, judo, jiu jitsu, muay thai, street self-defense and much more!

What do you offer?

We offer mixed martial arts classes to kids and adults. In addition, we offer the Carlos Machado BJJ method class. We also have a fight team that competes.

We are a social recreation vendor with Tri-Counties Regional Center so we offer classes to those clients as well.

Do I need to be fit for this?

No, not at all! We find that people start at varying fitness levels. But, you will find that you do get fit by doing our Oxnard martial arts classes. Isn’t that the point though? A fun workout that gets results!

Where is Fight Foundation?

We are right across the street from Taqueria Cuernavaca in Oxnard and next door to a nail salon. The major shops near our organization are Marshalls and Burlington Coat Factory. Olive Garden is also in our shopping center.

What do I need to bring to try a class?

Make sure you wear comfortable clothes you can do sport in! Not really suitable to practice kicks in a skirt.

Be sure to bring a water bottle to your martial arts classes. You will find Fight Foundation in Oxnard have martial arts classes for kids and adults that are a great workout and lots of fun! Most students are grinning from ear to ear by the end of the class. I am sure you will be too!

How do I get a scholarship?

Scholarship opportunities may be available based on current funding levels. Fight Foundation receives support through community donations, organizational partnerships, and employer matching contributions that help expand access to our youth development programs.

When scholarship funds are available, interested families may submit a scholarship interest request by contacting cherry@fight-foundation.org. Applicants must fill this form out: https://sparkpages.io/forms/?frm=_PMl

As with many nonprofit scholarship programs, recipients are selected through a randomized selection process, with final determinations made by our Board of Directors based on program availability and community need.

In additional to all of the physical skills he’s learned, it’s taught him how to listen, how to behave in a group setting, how to make friends and socialize with other kids his age, how to follow a schedule/routine, I could go on and on! Sifu Cherry always makes the class fun for the peewees and introduces new games all the time to keep them engaged. My son loves it and we can’t wait to sign our younger son up once he’s old enough!

My son has been with the fight foundation for a few years now. I signed him up because I was tired of my son coming home upset from being physically bullied with little consequences from the school. They've really helped my son with his confidence and bullying is no longer an issue. He's never had to use his MMA skills outside the studio but it's reassuring knowing my son has the tools he needs to defend himself if he's ever in a ugly situation or outnumbered. We can't always be there to protect our kids but you can give them the upper hand. MMA teaches more than just self defense its given my son goals to strive for and discipline outside my household. These are all things my daughter has gained and experienced at Fight Foundation.  The staff is tough, but also caring. The lessons are hard, but the skills are so valuable.
If you are looking for a marital arts studio that imparts all of the traditional lessons but also teaches practical self-defense that could be used if need be- Fight Foundation is the place for you!
